The University of Portland's School of Nursing (nursing.up.edu) welcomes applications for a full-time instructor position. The primary areas of expertise are: psychiatric/mental health nursing or acute care with strength in teaching pathophysiology and pharmacology. This position is scheduled to begin immediately or for the fall 2020 semester, which begins August 2020.

This is a full-time position with benefits. Benefits include: medical & dental insurance, life insurance, long-term disability insurance, sick time, tuition remission benefits starting after 90 days (employee) or 2 years (spouse and children) of employment, retirement contributions after 2 years of employment, and eligibility for the University’s home purchase assistance program.

The School of Nursing seeks forward-thinking instructors who love to teach and work in teams, and who recognize diversity and inclusion as core values of nursing. The BSN Program of Study is a concept-based curriculum with a strong use of evidence-based simulation. 

The School of Nursing has an undergraduate BSN program with over 850 students studying in a state-of-the-art population-focused and concept-based curriculum; and a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program with two options, BSN-DNP and a postmaster's DNP option for nurses who are nurse practitioners seeking the Doctorate of Nursing Practice degree.


Education & Licensing Requirements:

- Master's degree in nursing

- Eligible for Oregon RN licensure
