The School of Nursing at the University of Portland invites applications for adjunct instructors. This position is open on a continuous, on-going basis.

Adjunct instructors are hired on a per semester basis, and teach assigned School of Nursing courses, not to exceed 12 credit hours across the University in an academic year. Please visit the School of Nursing website for information about the department: https://nursing.up.edu/

This position has no benefits (other than sick leave benefits consistent with Oregon requirements).
 

- Teach courses, clinical or seminar, using evidence-based instructional practices.

- Adhere to syllabus requirements.

- Conduct regular student assessments and provide timely graded feedback; including homework, quizzes, and exams.

- Online learning management system use may be required.

- Be available in person for regular student meetings/office hours (classroom faculty only).

- Conduct oneself in a professional manner, including maintaining a respectful classroom environment and collegial interactions.
 

Education and/or Experience

Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree; active unencumbered RN license
Required: 2+ years RN experience


Preferred: Master's degree in Nursing

Additional Requirements Upon Hire


Clinical faculty must submit proof of current up-to-date immunizations (for vaccine preventable diseases, including TB testing) and CPR BLS certification to the School of Nursing. 

All School of Nursing faculty are required to pass a 10-panel drug-screen, including marijuana metabolite testing.
