  • Front of House - Commons (Server/Cashier/Barista)

    Department: Bon Appetit
    Summary:

    This part-time position will handle Front of the House duties at the Commons during the Fall and Spring semesters (may also be required to execute the duties of this position at other locations on campus as needed). Position reports to a Bon Appétit Supervisor.

    This position will be paid from Institutional funds as it is not eligible to pay from Federal Work-Study funds.

  • Back of House/Kitchen Staff - Pilot House

    Department: Bon Appetit
    Summary:

    This part-time position will handle Back of House duties at The Pilot House during the Fall and Spring semesters (may also be required to execute the duties of this position at other locations on campus as needed). Position will report to a Bon Appétit Supervisor. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Back of the House essential duties are listed below. 

    This position will be paid from Institutional funds as it is not eligible to pay from Federal Work-Study funds. 

  • On-Call Concessions Worker

    Department: Bon Appetit
    Summary:

    This part-time position will serve Concessions customers food and drinks at various athletic events on campus during the Fall and Spring Semesters. Position reports to a Bon Appetit Supervisor. Weekly hours are not guaranteed as position is based on an as-needed basis for athletic events. This position will be paid from Institutional funds as it is not eligible to pay from Federal Work Study funds.

  • Beauchamp Center - F2 Fitness Instructor

    Department: Recreation Services
    Summary:

    Fitness Instructors lead and organize group fitness classes for students, faculty and staff at the Beauchamp Recreation and Wellness Center. Instructors are responsible for: designing and maintaining class structure, capturing attendance, building progressive fitness programing through the course, providing modifications for all fitness levels, and ensuring a positive, welcoming environment.

  • Army ROTC Supply Assistant

    Department: Army ROTC
    Summary:

    The Army ROTC program needs to ensure all logistical actions are completed and updated frequently throughout the academic year.  The supply assistant will assist the program Executive Officer and Supply Technician on basic logistical support and accountability of equipment.  The AROTC Supply Assistant is not required to be a member of Army ROTC Program. 

  • Athletics Tutor

    Department: Athletics
    Summary:

    The University of Portland Athletics Department is looking for tutors to assist with student-athletes' academic coursework for the 2019-2020 school year (and potentially beyond) for all courses. Tutor should feel confident providing writing assistance to the student-athlete. Tutors are expected to be available between 60-90 minutes per week to work with between 1-3 student-athletes on study skills, notetaking skills, test preparation, and any other course or assignment related questions. We are looking for course specific tutors as well, so please list classes you feel comfortable tutoring. Additionally, tutors will be asked to log the tutoring session notes into a database (www.up.studyhalltracker.com) for the Athletics Department to keep track of notes from the sessions.

  • Physics Peer Leader AY19-20

    Department: Physics
    Summary:

    Peer Leaders report to the Physics Lab Coordinator (Punam Ghimire). Peer Leaders assist students during physics lab in either Romanaggi Hall 201 or 206. Peer leaders work for three hours a week in lab, as well as a short 30-45 minute meeting each week to discuss the following week's lab.  Peer Leaders are also responsible for grading lecture homework, giving a total of about 7 hours of work per week. There is the option to work additional hours during open lab. Peer Leaders are evaluated through a combination of the following: evaluation from the supervising lab adjunct, weekly meetings with the physics lab coordinator, occasional observation from the physics lab coordinator, and end of semester students' evaluations.
